The culmination of the period of unrest during the anti-CAA protests was a brutal pogrom that started in Northeast Delhi on February 23, 2020. An analysis of the data on death toll reveals that there is a clear religious disparity in the people who died in the pogrom. Nearly 51 people lost their lives, out of which only 13 were Hindu and 38 were Muslim. Now, about 7 months after the pogrom started, the Muslims of Seelampur, Jaffrabad and other localities in Delhi are still reeling with the shocks of the dark days in February. This Photo Essay ‘Prayers of Peace’ is a part of this series for pictures that depict the horrors and aftermath of the Delhi Pogrom.
